The city bus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH (proper spelling: city bus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH ) is the operator of the road-based public transport in Ravensburg , Weingarten and the surrounding communities Baienfurt , Baindt , Berg , Bodnegg , Ebenweiler , Fleischwangen , Fronreute , green herb and Wolpertswende . However, the GmbH is only a pure administrative unit ( corporate group), i.e. it owns neither buses nor the corresponding line concessions . The current association stadtbus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH emerged in 2004 from the predecessor association rundumbus Ravensburg Weingarten , which no longer existed , and this in turn existed since 1996. The lines of stadtbus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH have also been integrated into the Bodensee-Oberschwaben-Verkehrsverbund (bodo) since 2004 (Verbundstart on January 1, 2004). Since then, there has been a community tariff with a uniform fare and tariff system in the entire Ravensburg district and in the neighboring Lake Constance district and since January 1, 2018 also in the neighboring Lindau district .

Shareholder

The concessions for the bus routes within the Stadtbus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH group are distributed among a total of five companies. The percentage share that the individual companies have in the joint corporate group is also based on these concessions. As a special feature, the Ravensburg municipal utility and Weingarten municipal utility do not have their own buses; they instruct the FAOA to actually carry out the trips on the lines licensed to them:

Company Name address Head office function proportion of

Tariff

The lines of the Stadtbus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH were integrated into the then newly created Bodensee-Oberschwaben Verkehrsverbund (bodo) on January 1st, 2004. H. Since then, bodo tickets have also been recognized in city buses. Nevertheless, a special house tariff still applies on the buses of the GmbH; a single trip in city traffic costs z. Z. flat rate 1.80 euros, this corresponds to the bodo tariff for one zone. This fare is also a special feature if the city bus travels through two zones (according to the bodo tariff = 2.15 euros) or three zones (according to the bodo tariff = 3.00 euros). In contrast to this, however, the municipalities of Bodnegg, Ebenweiler, Fleischwangen, Fronreute and Wolpertswende are not integrated into this special city tariff; the regular bodo network tariff applies here again.

Which places and stops are within the city bus tariff can be found in the route network map of the city bus Ravensburg Weingarten.

Data

The three transport companies in the group of stadtbus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH (RAB, Hagmann and Grabherr) together employ around 180 people in the transport service, in the workshops and in the areas of sales and administration. The shared bus fleet (mostly with a uniform corporate identity in a white base color and red belly band) consists of around 75 buses, including 20  articulated buses . 11 million passengers are carried annually. Modern acceleration measures in the city center, which give the buses right of way in the increasingly dense car traffic, help ensure that the departure times can be adhered to according to plan. In addition to regular services, the transport companies also offer excursions with their city and intercity buses .

Others

The participation of Deutsche Bahn AG , represented by its subsidiary RAB, in the Stadtbus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH is a relic of the 1959 Ravensburg – Weingarten – Baienfurt tram . This was the only tram operator in Germany to be licensed to the Deutsche Bundesbahn , whose legal successor was Deutsche Bahn AG in 1994. The execution of city transport by the Deutsche Bahn AG group is comparatively rare and in this case can be traced back to the operation of the previous tram. Normally, DB Stadtverkehr GmbH , in which successor companies of the former rail bus division are usually integrated, mainly operates overland transport.
