Stanislaus Motty

Stanislaus Motty (Polish Łukasz Augustyn Stanisław Motty , born October 18, 1826 in Posen ; † December 21, 1900 there ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Motty attended high school in Poznan and studied from 1845 to 1849 law at the universities of Berlin and Heidelberg .

In 1848 Motty was involved in the Polish uprising, was arrested and after his release worked for nationally-minded Polish newspapers.

In October 1848 he continued his studies, which he completed in 1849. He entered the judicial service at the Poznan District Court, to which he was a member from 1856 to 1899, most recently as a district judge.

In spring 1863 he was a member of the illegal and secret Wielkopolska committee and in November 1863 in the executive department of the Polish national government.

In 1867 he was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation . From 1863 to 1867 Motty was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . He was again a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1886 until his death in 1900, in which he represented the constituency of the Posen 8 administrative district.

From 1898 he was also a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Posen 1 Posen district . The mandates ended with his death.

In addition to founding several agricultural loan funds, he was involved in promoting regional trade and wrote several specialist books in the fields of law and philology. He was married twice and had three daughters.
