construction

The Stanskogel is made of chalk slate and aptych limestone. The southwest ridge carries a small intermediate elevation, the Hirschpleißkopf, 2549  m , and drops to the Almajurjoch, 2237  m , the location of the Leutkircher hut . The east ridge carries the Bergleskopf, 2577  m , and ends in the Kaiserjoch, 2310  m , the location of the Kaiserjochhaus . The Black Ridge connects the Stanskogel with the Fallesinspitze, 2769  m , in the north.

First ascent

Before 1880 by cartographers, first documented tourist ascent by Anton Spiehler in 1884 from the west, east ridge 1897 Forcher-Mayr.

Tour possibilities

The easiest ascent is the marked path from the Leutkircher Hütte over the Hirschpleißkopf, 2549  m . The climb is a bit exposed in the upper part, insurance, two hours. Inexperienced people should only undertake the climb when accompanied by experienced mountain hikers or guides. The Stanskogel is often "taken along" along the Lechtaler Höhenweg , from the Hirschpleißkopf there is a connection to this Höhenweg so that there is no need to return to the Leutkircher Hütte.

Further climbs (selection):

  • East ridge over the Bergleskopf, 2577  m , up to this level of difficulty I−. From the Bergleskopf on, the grass is steep and fragile in places, difficulty level IV. The Alpine Club guide describes the ascent as "really beautiful in terms of mountaineering".
  • There are a number of other climbs (including S-flank, N-ridge), but these are described as brittle and not worthwhile.
