Star East Airlines Srl is a Romanian charter airline based in Bucharest and based at Bucharest-Băneasa Airport .

history

Star East Airlines was founded in Bucharest in 2016 and received its Air Operator Certificate on May 22, 2017 . Flight operations began with a Boeing 737-400 and an Airbus A320-200. Both machines come from the Kyrgyz S Group . On January 29, 2019, the Star East Airlines Air Operator Certificate was suspended, but could be regained shortly afterwards.

The aircraft are mainly used in wet leases for other airlines, for example the Airbus A320-200 flew for the German Small Planet Airlines , the Boeing 737-400 for the Dutch Corendon Airlines in summer 2018 . Both machines will be operated for Smartwings in summer 2019 .
