The Losheim reservoir is a recreational and swimming lake near Losheim am See in the Saarland near the city of Merzig . It is fed from the Losheimer Bach, which is dammed by an earth dam.

The reservoir has a surface of 31  hectares and, with a maximum water depth of 14 m, a water volume of 1.5 million m³. It has an extension of approx. 1200 m of greatest length and approx. 400 m of greatest width. It is located at an altitude of 330  m above sea level. NN and belongs to the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park .

The planning of the reservoir began in 1969 with the support of the Saarland Council of Ministers and with federal funding for the construction of tourist facilities . The then Saarland Prime Minister Franz-Josef Röder broke ground on September 26, 1972. On April 28, 1974, the lake was opened after 19 months of construction and damming.

The lake is surrounded by a 4.1-kilometer circular hiking trail and a large leisure center with mini golf , a boat harbor, restaurants and a lido, where open-air concerts are occasionally held.

The reservoir is used as diving water by various diving clubs.
