The Tannheim reservoir is a reservoir built between 1919 and 1923 on a side canal of the Iller near Tannheim in the Biberach district in Upper Swabia .

description

It is located in the district of Iller Plant II halfway west between Tannheim and Arlach. Here near Memmingen , the Illerkanal is dammed up by a 17 meter high gravity dam for the purpose of generating electricity. The hydropower plant on the dam was built in 1922 by the Upper Swabian Electricity Works Biberach and is now operated by EnBW Kraftwerke AG . It is part of the Illerkraftwerke .

In 2013 the owner renewed the intake structure on the Illerkanal near the Mooshausen weir. That is why the canal was drained to the Tannheim power station.
