Stefan Mikulicz

Stefan Mikulicz (born November 3, 1952 in Stockholm ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was Lord Mayor of the major district town of Wertheim from 2003 to 2019 . He was the 25th mayor since 1810.

Life

His father, Hans Mikulicz, was a veterinarian and a qualified farmer . His mother Eleonore Mikulicz was a teacher by profession. Stefan Mikulicz grew up in North Rhine-Westphalia after his parents moved there when he was three years old. After graduating from high school in Bochum , he studied architecture at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences from 1974 to 1978 and graduated with a degree in engineering . From 1978 to 1984, Mikulicz completed an architecture degree with a specialization in urban planning at the University of Stuttgart , which he completed with a degree in engineering. From 1979 to 1989 he worked as an urban planner and architect and from 1984 to 1989 he was also a lecturer and research assistant in research at the Urban Planning Institute of the University of Stuttgart.

In 1989, Mikulicz became head of the department at the Essen City Planning Office , before he served as technical assistant to the city of Kornwestheim from 1991 to 1995 . From 1995 to 2003 Mikulicz held the office of mayor in Heidenheim an der Brenz and in May 2000 he was elected first mayor . On March 16, 2003, he stood for election as Lord Mayor of the city of Wertheim. With 59.2 percent of the votes cast, he prevailed in the first ballot against Thomas Kraft of the SPD (40.2 percent). In the election on March 27, 2011, Mikulicz was confirmed in the office of Lord Mayor with 55.5 percent. His challenger Katja Weitzel (SPD) got 44 percent of the vote. In the OB election on February 3, 2019, Mikulicz did not run. His successor is the 30-year-old Markus Herrera Torrez (SPD).

Mikulicz has been a member of the CDU since 1995. Until 2003 he was a member of the CDU parliamentary group in the Heidenheim an der Brenz district council and in the association assembly of the regional association of East Württemberg . Since the 2004 election he has been a member of the CDU parliamentary group in the Main-Tauber district council and is currently chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Heilbronn-Franken regional association .

In the DRK district association, Mikulicz holds the office of deputy chairman and is chairman of the support group of the Academy of Police Baden-Württemberg in Wertheim.

Stefan Mikulicz is married to Annette Mikulicz, who is a qualified engineer and architect. The couple has three daughters.
