Stefan Roos (born November 23, 1963 in Ingolstadt ) is a German stuntman . He is a Jump Master for bungee jumping and managing director of an international event agency . Roos is considered a pioneer of jet boating in Germany and is also the founder of the first jet boat station in Germany.

biography

As the responsible jumpmaster of cranes, towers, bridges and helicopters , Roos has accompanied well over 60,000 bungee jumpers in terms of safety. Roos acted among others in Las Vegas , Acapulco , Queenstown , Cairns and Macau . Since 1997 there has been a close and exclusive cooperation with the New Zealander AJ Hackett , who is considered the inventor and pioneer of modern bungee jumping. As a stuntman and stunt coordinator, Roos was responsible for a variety of TV productions in front of and behind the camera.

In 1991 he founded Sports Unlimited Events , an agency for event marketing and action events, which was converted into Sports Unlimited Stefan Roos GmbH in 1992 .

In 2009 he founded the first jet boat station in Germany. Jetboating originated in New Zealand in the 1970s. The boats are characterized by their motorization and their exceptional maneuverability. In 2006, Stefan Roos was the first European to complete the strict training to become a jet boat pilot in New Zealand.

TV appearances / productions

  • ZDF-Fernsehgarten (since 1995): In 2004 Roos was probably the first stuntman to perform a car crash stunt "live" on ZDF. The stunt car was driven at approx. 60 km / h through a 90 cm low and transverse steel beam. Only 2 seconds before the roof was torn down, Roos dived.

Brand staging

  • 1996: Rap Sliding (extreme abseiling) 2 world records. 220 m dam in Switzerland ( Verzasca valley ) and 250 m from the helicopter (Herzogenaurach). Both actions were carried out as part of PR campaigns ( Wrangler Jeans and Pepsi Max).
  • 1998 Opening of the world's first permanent helicopter bungy station.
  • 1999 German premiere of the 1st TÜV-tested catapult system "Ejection Seat / Sling Shot".
  • In 1999 Stefan Roos developed "Heli-Body-Flying" on behalf of a manufacturer of game consoles. For the first time it was possible for 2 people to fly only 2 m below a helicopter in a horizontal position. As part of a stunt performance for German television, Stefan Roos holds the speed record: 185 km / h
  • 2000 world record: jumps from the Royal Gorge Bridge (up to 2001 the highest suspension bridge in the world) in Colorado / USA (320 m).
  • 2004 Positioning of one of the most successful vertical shows worldwide: VERTICAL SKYWALK ™. Over 200 shows have been performed worldwide since then.
  • 2005 Highest fashion show in the world (Vertical Skywalk). From the 117 m high Hilton Tower in Mumbai / India .
  • 2006 Stefan Roos is the first European to train as a “Commercial Jetboat Pilot” in Queenstown / New Zealand on the Shotover River .
  • 2007 & 2008 Roos is considered to be the founder of “Commercial Jetboating” in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after a two-year promotion in Dubai .
  • 2009 Commissioning of the first jet boat station in Germany (between Kelheim and Regensburg on the Danube ).
