Stefan Thelen (born March 9, 1992 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German - Jordanian soccer player .

Career

society

In his youth, Thelen played for TuS Keyenberg, SV Holzweiler , TuS Germania Kückhoven and 1. FC Cologne . In the summer of 2011 he moved permanently from the U-19s to the 2nd team of 1. FC Köln, which played in the Regionalliga West . Thelen had already made five appearances for the 2nd team in the previous 2010/11 season . In the summer of 2013, after 59 games and six goals, he left Cologne.

From July 2013 to January 2014 Thelen was without a club. On January 31, 2014, he moved to the Regionalliga Nord for Goslarer SC. By the end of the 2013/14 season , he only made seven appearances. After only half a year he moved again, this time to the Regionalliga Südwest at Eintracht Trier .

In the 2014/15 season he played a total of 28 league games for Eintracht Trier. Thelen played in the DFB-Pokal for the first time this season . In the first round he met SC Freiburg with Trier . The game ended with a 2-0 defeat for Trier, in which Thelen was on the field for over 90 minutes.

In summer 2016 he returned to the Regionalliga West, where he signed a contract this time with the newly promoted FC Wegberg-Beeck . After 18 appearances in the league and one game in the Middle Rhine Cup, Thelen switched to league competitor Rot-Weiss Essen during the winter break. Thelen remained in Essen without a job. Due to an inner ligament tear in March 2016, he was out for over two months and missed a large part of the second half of the season.

On August 31, 2016, Thelen moved to the New Zealand Football Championship , the top division in New Zealand . At Waitakere United he signed a contract until June 30, 2017. He made his debut on October 16, 2016 in the game against Auckland City FC . In this 1-0 success, he gave the template for the winning goal.

At the beginning of August 2017, Thelen signed a one-year contract with VfB Lübeck in the Regionalliga Nord .

National team

In August 2016, Thelen took part in the training camp of the Jordanian national soccer team in Switzerland. His grandfather was born in Jordan , so Thelen would have the opportunity to play for Jordan.
