Stefan Thielen (born November 27, 1977 in Merzig ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been a member of the Saarland state parliament since 2015 .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Saarburg in 1997 , Thielen did his military service with the Saarland Brigade . From 1998 to 2001 he completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Sparkasse Merzig-Wadern , after which he studied international relations and international management in St. Gallen , San Diego and Helsinki .

After completing his master's degree in 2007, he worked as a management consultant for zeb.rolfes.schierenbeck.associates (until 2012) and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants (2013), then as a specialist coordinator for strategic development at SaarLB (2014/15).

Political functions

In 1998 Thielen joined the CDU. He was a member of the regional executive committee of the Junge Union Saar from 2005 to 2012. He has been treasurer of the Merzig-Wadern district association since 2011, chairman of the Faha local association since 2013 and a member of the Saar CDU regional executive committee since 2014 .

From 2002 to 2007 he was a member of the local council of Faha. In 2015, Thielen replaced the resigned MP Frank Finkler in the Saarland state parliament. He was signed on October 13, 2015.

From 2015 to 2017 Stefan Thielen was the budget and financial policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. In May 2017, he was unanimously elected parliamentary director of the CDU parliamentary group in the Saarland state parliament in a special meeting .
