Stefan Wul

Stefan Wul (actually Pierre Pairault ; born March 27, 1922 in Paris ; died November 26, 2003 ) was a French science fiction writer.

life and work

Pairault initially studied philosophy and literature , but after graduating he decided to study dentistry. In addition to his profession as a dentist, which he practiced from 1945 until his retirement in 1989, he wrote eleven novels in the second half of the 1950s, with which he made a name for himself in French-speaking countries and still enjoys cult status today. Two of his works served as models for well-known science fiction films. Oms en série was created as La Planète sauvage ( The fantastic planet in the German version) and L'orphelin de Perdide (German as ruler of time ) by the French director René Laloux with the help of well-known artists such as Jean 'Moebius' Giraud and Roland Topor as Cartoons implemented. La Planète sauvage was nominated for the Nebula Award in 1975 . His last work was published in 1977, the Roman Noô , which was awarded the Prix ​​Julia-Verlanger in 1986 . In addition, a whole series of his works were adapted as comics from 2012.
