Stefano Macina (born January 23, 1956 ) is a San Marinese politician .

Macina was general secretary of the CSDL union from 1984 to 1991. In 1992 he became secretary of the Partito Progressista Democratico Sammarinese (PPDS). He was first elected to the San Marinese parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale , in 1993 . In the 1998 elections he was again on the PPDS list in parliament. After the cabinet reshuffle in March 2000, the PPDS took part in the government and Macina became Minister of Labor until July 2001 (Segretario di Stato per il Lavoro, la Programmazione Economica, Comercio con l'Estero e la Cooperazione) .

In early 2001 the PPDS merged with the Riformisti Democratici and the Socialisti idee in Movimento to form the Partito dei Democratici (PdD). Macina was re-elected to parliament in 2001 on the list of the PdD. After the 2001 elections, the PdD was in opposition. Macina headed Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee from July 2002 to February 2003. From 2003 to 2006 he was director of the Centro Commerciale Azzurro shopping center in Serravalle . In 2005 the PdD and the Partito Socialista Sammarinese merged to form the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici (PSD). Macina was re-elected to the Consiglio Grande e Generale in 2006 and 2008 on the PSD list.

After the parliamentary elections in June 2006, PDCS , Alleanza Popolare , PSD and Sinistra Unita jointly formed the government. Macina became Minister of Finance until the end of the 2008 legislative period (Segretario di Stato alle Finanze e Bilancio, Poste e Azienda Filatelica e Numismatica) . From 2008 to 2012 the PSD was in opposition. Macina became a member of the Consiglio dei XII and the Finance Committee.

In the parliamentary elections in November 2012, Macina reached number 12 on the list of the PSD, which won 10 seats. However, he moved up to the Consiglio Grande, as the PSD provided three ministers whose parliamentary seats are suspended while they are in the cabinet. Macina was again a member of the Consiglio dei XII and the Finance Committee. He was also a member of the Judiciary Committee, which he took over from Valeria Ciavatta when she was Capitano Reggente from April to October 2014 . He became deputy parliamentary group leader of the PSD and after the PSD parliamentary group leader Denise Bronzetti resigned from the party in September 2013, Macina followed as group leader. In April 2015 Gerardo Giovagnoli succeeded Macina in the group chairmanship. After Macina was charged in connection with the Conto Mazzini scandal, he renounced his parliamentary mandate on May 21, 2015.

Stefano Macina was President of the San Marinol Baseball Club and is currently (2015) the club's secretary. He is married and has one daughter.
