Steindór Ingason (born April 5, 1994 ) is an Icelandic ice hockey player who has been under contract with UMFK Esja in the Icelandic ice hockey league since 2016 .
Career
Steindór Ingason started his career as a hockey player with Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn , with whom he became Icelandic champion in 2012 . In 2013 he moved to North America, where he was initially on the ice for Kamloops Storm and the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League . He then played for two years with the Almaguin Spartans in the Greater Montreal Hockey League . In 2016 he returned to Iceland, where he is under contract with UMFK Esja in the Icelandic ice hockey league, with which he was again Icelandic champion in 2017.
International
Steindór Ingason played for Iceland as a youngster. He participated in the U18 World Championships in 2010 and 2012 in Division II and 2011 in Division III as well as in the U20 World Championships in Division II in 2011 , 2013 and 2014 and in Division III in 2012 when he was top scorer among the tournament's defenders, part.
For the men's national team , Steindór Ingason played in Division II at the 2015 and 2017 World Championships . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
