action

The year 2005 is drawing to a close. 10-year-old Stella spends New Year's Eve with her parents and grandmother in the old villa of her late great-grandmother Clementine. Stella can hardly remember the old lady. But the little silver amulet that she once received from her is her constant companion. When Stella illegally sneaks into the attic of the villa and discovers a hidden elevator there, an adventurous journey into the past begins for her. Suddenly Clementine, who was the same age at the time, and her brother Gustav stand in front of her. It quickly becomes clear to the siblings that Stella took the elevator 100 years back in time to 1905. Gustav is extremely delighted because he is the only one who believed in Uncle Anton's invention of a time travel elevator. But the family has completely different worries right now: At the end of the year, the entire family property is in danger of being lost, as Clementine's father went into debt when building a railway line. Only Uncle Anton's treasure could save everything. The children decide to look for Anton's treasure, the Star of the Orient , a jewel of immeasurable value. There is not much time left, because shortly after midnight Stella has to get back into the time elevator, otherwise she can never return to the present. The search begins beyond the prohibitions of the parents. But also the seedy Dr. Lodeus and his assistant Kleinheinz are after the gem. The two crooks know that the children have the magic amulet that is the guide and key to the treasure. In the end, the children manage to assert themselves against the crooks and win the treasure for themselves. At the last minute, Stella reaches the time elevator so that she can start her journey home to the present.
