Stephan Heinrich von Eberstein

Count Stephan Heinrich von Everstein (born April 10, 1533 - † October 6, 1613 at Quarkenburg Castle) was a diplomat for the Dukes of Pomerania , Lord of Naugard and Massow and district administrator there .

Stephan Heinrich von Everstein was a son of Count Georg von Everstein (1481–1553) and his wife Walpurgis, born. Countess Schlick (1500–1575). He married Countess Margarethe von Dietz (1544–1608), a daughter of Landgrave Philip I of Hesse (1509–1567) from his morganatic second marriage with Margarethe von der Saale on August 10, 1577 in Frauenberg . His wife left him two children.

Career

He studied first in Wittenberg , later also in Italy, France and England. He then found a place of work at the Imperial Court of Justice and then worked for Duke Ludwig of Württemberg and Archbishop Gebhard of Cologne . In 1593 he went back to Pomerania and entered the service of the dukes there . In 1603 he became district administrator. He died at the Quarkenburg castle that he had built.
