Stephan Just (born April 3, 1979 in Eisenach ) is a former German handball player and today's coach. He recently coached the German upper division TSG Altenhagen-Heepen .

Career

Stephan Just started playing handball at the age of six at BSG Motor Eisenach, which was renamed ThSV Eisenach after the fall of the Berlin Wall . At the age of 16 he was a member of the first men's team. In 2003, the right-hander left Eisenach to play for SC Magdeburg in the future . Here, however , the circle runner was only a reservist, so he moved to league rivals SV Post Schwerin during the winter break of the 2004/05 season. After Schwerin failed to keep up, he moved to GWD Minden , where he had a contract until 2011. However, since GWD relegated to the 2nd division for the 2010/11 season, his contract expired. Stephan Just then signed a contract with the district rival TuS N-Lübbecke . In the summer of 2012 he left Nettelstedt. After Just being out of a club for a few months, he signed a contract with TSG Friesenheim in October 2012 , with which he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 2013/14 . There he was mostly used in the back room. He last played for ASV Hamm-Westfalen in the 2015/16 season . In January 2017 Just took over the B-Jugend from GWD Minden. After only one month, however, he left again to take over as coach from ASV Hamm-Westphalia. After the 2016/17 season, he stopped working at Hamm-Westfalen.

From the pre-season preparation for the 2018/19 season, Just trained the upper division TSG Altenhagen-Heepen. In December 2018 he was released from his duties. From summer 2020 he will train the 2nd team from SC Magdeburg.

He made his international debut in the German national team on October 19, 1999 against Poland. So far, he has scored 18 goals in 14 international matches.

With 1714 goals in 417 Bundesliga games, Stephan Just is one of the most dangerous players in league history. (As of August 2013)
