Stephan Kühn (born September 6, 1979 in Dresden ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2009 .

Life

After graduating from the Marie-Curie-Gymnasium in Dresden in 1998 , Kühn did community service with the Green League in Dresden. From 1999 he studied sociology at the Technical University of Dresden . As part of his studies, he worked under Karl Lenz on the second Dresden children's study. He graduated with a diploma in 2008 and then worked as a press officer for the parliamentary group of the Greens in Saxony.

Stephan Kühn volunteered early on, first in the Dresden UNICEF working group, then in the youth network of the Green League against the construction of the A 17 and in the Dresden City School Council. From 1998 to 2003 he was a board member of the Green League Dresden and from 2000 to 2003 he worked on the state board of the Green League Saxony.

Kühn has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1998. In 2004 he was elected to the Dresden city council, where he was transport policy spokesman in the Green parliamentary group. In this function, he campaigned against the construction of the Waldschlößchenbrücke in order to preserve the Dresden Elbe Valley World Heritage . In January 2010 he resigned from the city council.

From 2007 to 2008 he was a member of the state board of the Saxon Greens . From 2008 to 2010 he was the board spokesman for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Dresden. Between 2010 and 2018, Kühn was a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Sachsen party council with one interruption. He has been a member of the state executive board again since March 2020.

In the 2009 federal election , Stephan Kühn ran for second place on the Saxon state list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and as a direct candidate in the Bundestag constituency Dresden II - Bautzen II . He entered the Bundestag via the state list. In 2013 and 2017, Kühn succeeded in returning to second place on the Saxon state list.

In the Bundestag, Kühn was the spokesman for building policy for the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group until July 2011. Since then, he has been the transport policy spokesman for his group.

Since the 17th electoral term, Kühn has represented his parliamentary group as a full member in the Committee for Transport, Building and Urban Development and in the current Committee for Transport and Digital Infrastructure. After his deputy membership in the Interior Committee of the 17th electoral term, he became a deputy member of the Petitions Committee in the 18th electoral term, of which he is now a full member in the 19th electoral term. Kühn also worked as a deputy member in the committee of inquiry into the emissions scandal of the 18th electoral term and is a full member and chairman of his parliamentary group in the committee of inquiry into the car toll affair in the current 19th electoral term .

Stephan Kühn is a member of the Eastern Regional Group of his parliamentary group. He is also involved in the parliamentary group Kulturgut Alleen and in the parliamentary group for electromobility as co-speaker and in the parliamentary group Slovakia-Czech Republic-Hungary as deputy chairman. He is also a member of the parliamentary groups Poland and Ukraine. As a board member and player in the FC Bundestag , the soccer team of members of the Bundestag.

In addition, Stephan Kühn is a member of the non-partisan European Union Germany , which advocates a federal Europe and the European unification process.

Private

Kühn lives in Dresden and Berlin and has two children, including a son with the politician Agnes Krumwiede ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).
