Stephan Markus Cabizares Schröck (born August 21, 1986 in Schweinfurt ) is a German- Filipino soccer player . He usually plays on the defensive flanks , but can also be used in midfield . Schröck's mother is Filipina, his father is German.
Career
societies
Schröck played for the DJK Schweinfurt until he moved to the B-youth of SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2001 . In the 2003/04 season he failed with the A-youth of SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the semifinals of the German championship at VfL Bochum , in the 2004/05 season at VfB Stuttgart .
In the 2004/05 season Schröck was for the first time in the professional squad of Fürth after an injury to Roberto Hilbert ; for the 2005/06 season he received a professional contract. As a supplementary player, he was often used. From 2008 he established himself in the team. In the 2010/11 season, coach Michael Büskens put him from midfield to the right defensive side, where he was placed in the first half of the season. Due to knee problems and a necessary operation, however, he was almost out of the second half of the season.
For the 2012/13 season , Schröck moved to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . He signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2015, but moved on to Eintracht Frankfurt a year later . On July 2, 2014, he returned to SpVgg Greuther Fürth. There he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2018. During this period there was a temporary change of club. He joined the Philippine first division club Ceres-La Salle FC from the city of Bacolod City on loan from January 20, 2016 to August 31, 2016. At the beginning of August 2016, the loan was extended to January 15, 2017. After his return to Germany, he joined the second team of SpVgg Greuther Fürth, because the first team no longer planned with him. His contract was terminated on April 15, 2017.
National team
Schröck went through the DFB national teams of the U-18 , U-19 and U-20 . With the U-19 selection, he reached the semifinals of the 2005 European Championships in Northern Ireland, in which the team just lost 3-2 to eventual winners France.
On September 9, 2008, Schröck was invited to an A international match for the Philippines , but at that time he did not have their citizenship. On June 29, 2011 he made his debut in a 1-1 draw against Sri Lanka . On July 28, 2011, he scored his first goal in an international A match in a 2-1 defeat against Kuwait in the context of World Cup qualification .
Schröck was voted the Philippines' Football Player of the Year in 2013.
