Stephanie Regula von Orelli (born February 25, 1966 in Basel ) is a Swiss specialist in gynecology and obstetrics and chief physician of the gynecological clinic at Triemli City Hospital in Zurich .

Life

Von Orelli comes from the Orelli family , a Lombard noble family. Your parents are both doctors. She studied human medicine at the University of Zurich and passed her state examination in 1992. She is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics with a focus on breast diseases, gynecological cancer operations and obstetrics. The clinical lecturer is a lecturer at the University of Zurich.

Von Orelli worked in surgery at the Waid City Hospital and at the Triemli Hospital, and from 2004 to 2008 was a senior doctor at the Clinic for Gynecology at the University Hospital Zurich . From 2008 to 2012, she shared responsibility for the Maternité Triemli women's clinic as co-chief physician with Brida von Castelberg, who took early retirement in 2012. Since then she has been chief physician, department head and member of the hospital management. Orelli works 80 percent to be able to spend time with her children; since 2017 together with Natalie Gabriel again in the job sharing model at chief physician level.

She encourages women to pursue careers and considers female role models to be "very important". She leads a large team with mostly female doctors and two doctors. In their clinic, experienced doctors coach and support the younger assistant and senior doctors in a sponsorship system.

In 2016, Swiss television and 3sat broadcast a longer portrait of Stefanie von Orelli with the title Die Hauptärztin . The main topic was the compatibility of career and children.

Von Orelli is married to the architect Xavier Temme and has three children.
