Stephy Alvaro Mavididi (born May 31, 1998 in Derby ) is an English football player .

Career

society

Mavididi began his career at Arsenal FC . In September 2014 he made his first appearance for the Arsenal U-19 team in the UEFA Youth League against Borussia Dortmund . In the same month he played against Newcastle United for the first time for the reserve team of his club. In November 2014 he scored his first goal in the Youth League in a 1-0 win against Dortmund. His first goal for the reserve came in a 4-1 win over Stoke City in April 2015 . In September 2016, he was in the league cup match against Nottingham Forest for the first time in Arsenal's professional squad.

In January 2017, Mavididi was awarded to third division club Charlton Athletic . He made his debut for Charlton in League One in February 2017 when he came on as a substitute for Ricky Holmes in the 79th minute against AFC Wimbledon on matchday 31 of the 2016/17 season . On the following day he was against Oldham Athletic for the first time on the grid. After five games for Charlton, he returned to Arsenal prematurely in March 2017 due to an injury.

In August 2017 it was awarded again, this time to the second division club Preston North End . He made his Championship debut for Preston that same month when he came on as a 88th-minute substitute for Sean Maguire against Reading FC on matchday four of the 2017/18 season . After ten second division appearances for Preston, the loan was ended early in January 2018 and Mavididi was loaned to Charlton a second time. In his first game after returning to Charlton, he also scored his first goal in League One in a 1-0 win over Oldham. By the end of the season he came to twelve appearances in the league, in which he scored two goals. After the end of the regular season, he missed promotion to the championship with Charlton in the playoffs.

After the loan ended, Mavididi initially returned to Arsenal for the 2018/19 season and played there again for the reserve. In August 2018 he moved to Italy to Juventus Turin , where he was to play for the third-class reserve team. He played his first game in Serie C in September 2018 against the US Alessandria Calcio . In October 2018, he scored his first goal in the third-highest Italian division in a 1-1 draw against Robur Siena . In March 2019 he was in the first team of Juventus for the first time against Udinese Calcio . In April 2019, he finally made his Serie A debut when he came on as a substitute for Moise Kean on matchday 32 of the 2018/19 season against SPAL Ferrara in the 69th minute .

National team

Mavididi took in 2015 with the English U-17 team at the European Championships in part and was there in the first group match against Italy his debut for them. With England he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Russia . During the tournament he was used in four of five English games, only in the qualifying game for the World Cup against Spain he was not used.
