Around 1667 the Reichsstift Sankt Emmeram acquired the "Hofmark" Stetten. Until 1978 the village was part of the former municipality of Paitzkofen, which was formed from the tax districts of Stetten and Paitzkofen. The municipality of Paitzkofen came to Straubing from the Deggendorf Regional Court on June 15, 1838. In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria in 1978, Stetten was incorporated into the community of Straßkirchen together with all other districts of Paitzkofen.
