history

According to the court register of 1599, Häberskhofen belonged to the main team, later to the chairman of Straßkirchen. In the year of conscription in 1752, the Niederaltaich , Metten and Oberalteich monasteries were the landlords in Haberkofen, which was part of the Straubing Regional Court.

When the community was formed, Haberkofen came to Niederharthausen in 1821 . At the request of the Straubing District Office , the American military government ordered the incorporation of Haberkofen, Oedhof and Niederast from the Niederharthausen community into the Straßkirchen community with effect from January 1, 1946. The Niederharthausen community protested against this, and after a few months the reunification to Niederharthausen was ordered. The local spokesmen for Haberkofen, Oedhof and Niederast turned to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior with petitions and complaints and presented plans in which the poor connection and the geographical disparity with the community of Niederharthausen were highlighted. On the instructions of the Minister of the Interior, the government of Lower Bavaria - Upper Palatinate in Regensburg passed a resolution on February 9, 1949, according to which "following an urgent need" the towns of Haberkofen, Oedhof and Niederast were finally incorporated into the political community of Straßkirchen from April 1, 1949 .
