Niederharthausen is a church village and part of the municipality of Aiterhofen in the Straubing-Bogen district in Lower Bavaria .
geography
The village is about two kilometers southeast of the main town of Aiterhofen. The historical core stretches on both sides of the SR 72 district road , accompanied by the Schambach , which used to be called Gänsgraben here .
history
From what was then Niederharthausen in 1949, the parts of the community Haberkofen , Niederast and Oedhof were incorporated into the community of Straßkirchen . This reduced the area of the municipality from around 983 to around 511 hectares . On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Niederharthausen was incorporated into the municipality of Aiterhofen with the municipal parts Niederharthausen, Burgstall and Lindhof .

Culture and sights
The church is a Catholic branch church St. Johannes d. T., whose choir is early Gothic , while the nave dates from the 15th century.
The clubs are the volunteer fire brigade (FF) and the Niederharthausen ice stock club (ECN), founded in 1982 .

economy
The Bayern-Ei company , which was involved in a salmonella scandal in 2015 and was immediately shut down, is located on Kreisstrasse SR 9 . The village community successfully opposed further use of the plant by the Wiesenhof company as a broiler facility.
