Steve Cantamessa

Steve G. Cantamessa (born before 1981) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Steve Cantamessa, son of the sound engineer Gene Cantamessa , began his career in the late 1970s, initially as a television sound assistant , so between 1980 and 1984 he was involved in 118 episodes of the Dallas soap opera . From the mid-1980s he received more and more film engagements, and from 1993 he worked as a sound engineer, including on Hollywood productions such as Wag the Dog - When the Tail Wags the Dog , Sphere - The Power of Space and Devilish and from 1994 to 1997 on the youth series Party of Five and from 1998 to 2002 on the science fiction series The X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases . For this he received the Primetime Emmy in 2000 . In 2005 he was awarded the Oscar for Best Sound for Ray along with Scott Millan , Greg Orloff and Bob Beemer . He also received the BAFTA Film Award in the “ Best Sound ” category that year .
