Stjepko Good

Stjepko "Steve" Gut (born December 15, 1950 in Ruma ) is a Serbian jazz musician ( trumpet , flugelhorn , big band leader).

Career

Well studied at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He played in the Radio Novi Sad orchestra , was a member of Woody Herman's band , the RTB Big Band and was a member of Lionel Hampton's All Stars in 1981 and 1982 .

Since 1980 he has led a sextet with Milivoje Marković . Since 1984 he has taught ensemble playing and big band at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where he led the MHS Big Band , which performed at important European festivals and won the 1st Austrian Big Band competition at the 1993 Jazz Festival in Vienna. He also became director of the Radio-Televizija Srbije jazz orchestra . As a sideman he was part of the Clark Terry big band from 1984 to 2010 ; he continued to work a. a. with Horace Parlan , Vince Benedetti , Sal Nistico , Wild Bill Davis , Curtis Fuller , Mark Murphy and Charly Antolini .
