Steve Janzen

Stephen Robert "Steve" Janzen (born May 28,  1982 ) is a former Canadian - German basketball player .

career

Born in Burnaby , Janzen played in his home country Canada at the Hugh Boyd Secondary School in Richmond (province of British Columbia ) and then for two years at Langara College in Vancouver and from 2002 to 2005 at Trinity Western University . After the 1.90-meter-tall winger scored 12.3 points per encounter in the season and had proven to be an accurate shooter from the three-line, he accepted an offer from the German second division club NVV Lions Mönchengladbach before the 2005/06 season  . After the probationary period, the contract was terminated in mid-November 2005 and Janzen played in the same league for TuS Iserlohn from then on .

From 2007 to 2009 he was under contract with the P4two Ballers Osnabrück , with the Lower Saxony he rose from the regional league to the 2nd basketball league ProB . For the 2009/10 season Janzen returned to the Iserlohn team (now Regional League). In the 2010/11 season he was in the service of UBC Hanover in the 2nd ProA basketball league and was  also an English teacher in Hanover . With the UBC he was relegated from the second-highest German division and played in 2011/12 with the team in the 2nd basketball division ProB.

He then went back to Canada, graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in teaching and became a teacher in British Columbia. In addition, he passes on his basketball experience as a provider of training events for young people.
