Steve Norton

Steve Norton is an American jazz and improvisation musician ( baritone saxophone , soprano saxophone ).

Live and act

Norton studied saxophone with Steve Adams (member of the Rova Saxophone Quartet ) and George Garzone , composition at Berklee College of Music . He began his career in Boston in the 1970s, was a founding member of the Either / Orchestra and worked a. a. with Vic Rawlings , Curt Newton , Joe Morris , Herb Robertson , Ken Vandermark , Tim Berne , Gregg Bendian , Andrea Parkins and in the rock bands Animal Hospital Ensemble and Mission Creep . He also leads the quintet Debris (album Terre Haute , 1993), which deals with new music. With Debris and the Splatter Trio he recorded an album with compositions by Anthony Braxton . In 1992 he founded the Sponj saxophone quartet . In the field of jazz he was involved in 22 recording sessions between 1986 and 1997.
