Steven Cousins (born May 24, 1972 in Chester , England ) is a former British figure skater who started in a single run .

Cousins ​​became the youngest British figure skating champion in history in 1990 at the age of 17. It was the first of eight national titles he won in his career. His trainer was Doug Leigh . Steven Cousins ​​is not related to Robin Cousins .

In the period from 1990 to 1998, Cousins ​​took part in all world and European championships . His best result at European championships was fourth in 1996 and his best result at world championships was seventh in 1998 . He played three Olympic Games . In 1992 in Albertville he finished 12th, in 1994 in Lillehammer he was ninth and in 1998 in Nagano he achieved his best result with sixth place. At the 1994 Olympics, Cousins ​​became the first Briton to show a triple axel .

After his amateur career ended, he turned pro and ran for Stars on Ice. In June 2003, Cousins ​​married the Canadian ice dancer Kristina Leko . The marriage ended in divorce in the summer of 2006. Then he married the Russian figure skater Jelena Berezhnaya . With her he has a son and a daughter.
