Stevie Starr

Steven "Stevie" Starr (born December 13, 1962 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish illusionist . His performances seem to be based on the principle of regurgitation ; H. In the perception of the audience, Starr swallows objects and deliberately pulls them out of his stomach. In 2018 he won the talent show Das Supertalent .

life and career

According to his own account, Stevie Starr spent the first 18 years of his life in a children's home in his hometown. Starr has ten siblings and is an uncle 40 times.

At first he worked in a butcher's shop . He then appeared on various television shows, including the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman . In 2010, Stevie Starr appeared on the British talent show Britain's Got Talent , in which he swallowed Heidi Klum's ring and a lock with a key and brought the ring out of his mouth. Starr was eliminated in the semifinals . He also appeared in the German talent show Das Supertalent in 2010 . In the semifinals, he swallowed, among other things, a ring from juror Sylvie van der Vaart . He reached the final of the twelve best participants, in which he finished seventh in the televoting . In 2011 he took part again in Das Supertalent , but was eliminated in the semifinals. In the same year he also took part in the Czech version of the show and made it to the finals. In 2018 he won Das Supertalent .

Type of performance

One of Starr's best-known feats is that he appears to swallow numbered coins and then brings them out of his mouth in the desired order. He also swallows billiard balls , light bulbs, lighters, magic cubes and live goldfish that survive unharmed. In another trick, Starr smokes a cigarette, keeping the smoke in himself and then blowing it into a soap bubble, sometimes with gas he previously swallowed, and then igniting it.
