Sylvie Meis Françoise (* 13. April 1978 in Breda ), formerly known as Sylvie van der Vaart is, one in Germany living Dutch presenter and model .

life and career

Her mother Rita Meis is Belgian and her father is of Indonesian descent. She has a brother. After four years of training in human resource management at the West Brabant University of Applied Sciences , she worked as a model.

Meis' television career began in 2003 when she at one Moderators - Casting of the TV channel TMF participated. She then moderated the Fox Kids program. In the beach soap Costa! she played a bartender for two years. She also made several appearances as the host of the annual TMF Awards and conducted interviews with international artists such as Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears . She also participated in video clips and created her own jewelry collection Pure by Sylvie, which was also launched on the German market in 2006.

From 2008 to 2011 Meis sat next to Dieter Bohlen , Bruce Darnell and Motsi Mabuse on the jury of the RTL talent show Das Supertalent . In July 2018, Bohlen announced that Meis would return to the talent show's jury as the successor to Nazan Eckes for the 2018 season .

Meis worked as an advertising medium , among others for BMW , Gillette and L'Oréal Professional . In 2010, she participated in the third season of Let's Dance and reached second place. Her dance partner was Christian Bärens, who was later replaced by Christian Polanc due to an injury . From the fourth season in 2011 to the tenth season in 2017, she moderated the show - alongside Daniel Hartwich - herself. In 2012, both received the Bavarian TV Prize . Since 2012 she has been presenting lingerie and bikinis, some of which she designed herself, for The Sylvie Collection by Hunkemöller .

In autumn 2015 she presented the RTL dance show Stepping Out together with Hartwich . Together with the Duo Nica & Joe she performed from November 2015 to February 2016 in the Holiday-on-Ice - show Believe as a special guest in 15 German cities. She was an ambassador and presenter at the Dreamball of the German Bone Marrow Donor Center and called for people to be registered.

In autumn 2017, she launched a line of underwear and swimwear.

From November 21 to December 5, 2018, she hosted her own model casting show Sylvies Dessous Models , which was broadcast on RTL.

Private

In June 2005 Meis married the Dutch soccer player Rafael van der Vaart . In the summer of 2005 the couple moved to Hamburg , where they were under contract with Hamburger SV until 2008 . Like her husband, she began to learn German intensively. On May 28, 2006, they became parents to a son.

In June 2009, Meis announced that she had breast cancer . The tumor was surgically removed, and she then did supportive chemotherapy .

In January 2013, the van der Vaart couple announced their separation. After the divorce on December 4, 2013, she took her maiden name Meis again.

In April 2017, she announced her engagement to businessman Charbel Aouad; in October of the same year the couple separated. In April 2019 it was announced that Meis had separated from the Dutch film producer Bart Willemsen after a six-month relationship. In October of the same year, she announced her engagement after a three-month relationship with the artist Niclas Castello.

Meis lives with her son in Hamburg.
