Stojaniw ( Ukrainian Стоянів ; Russian Стоянов Stojanow , Polish Stojanów ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast with about 2900 inhabitants (2001).
Stojaniw located in the north of Radekhiv Raion on the trunk road N 17 and on the banks of Sudyliwka ( Судилівка ), a 27 km long left tributary of the Styx , 11 km north of Rajonzentrum Radekhiv and 83 km northeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Lviv . In the village there is a train station on the Lviv – Kiverti line , between 1910 and 1928 the village was the terminus of the Lviv – Stojanów local railway .
The village is the administrative center of the district council of the same name, to which the village Sbojiwska ( Збоївська ⊙ ) with about 100 inhabitants also belongs.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1501 and was initially in the Bełz Voivodeship as part of the aristocratic republic of Poland . From 1772 to 1918 he belonged to the Austrian Galicia under his Polish name Stojanów .
After the end of World War I the place to come Poland (in the province Tarnopol , Powiat Radziechów , Gmina Stoyanov ), was in the Second World War in September 1939 by the Soviet Union and then from summer 1941 to 1944 of Germany occupied, the place was in incorporated the district of Galicia .
After the end of the war the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
