Stojna Vangelovska ( Macedonian Стојна Вангеловска ; born February 5, 1965 in Skopje , Socialist Republic of Macedonia , Yugoslavia ) is a former professional Macedonian basketball player who competed for Yugoslavia.
Vangelovska was born in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. At the age of 15 she played there for Student Skopje . At their first Olympic Games in 1984 , Vangelovska was the youngest of their team, finishing in sixth place. Four years later, the successful coach Ciga Vasojević made her team captain. Stojna Vangelovska won the silver medal with the Yugoslav team at the 1988 Olympic Games . In the final, their team lost to the US with 70:77 points. The 1987 vice European champion also won the Summer Universiade in the same year , with the Yugoslav team beating the Soviet team in the final. Vangelovska was repeatedly nominated as one of the top five players.
With her club ŽKK Partizan , Vangelovska became Yugoslav champions in 1984 and 1985 and cup winner in 1985. With the Ljubljana- based ŽKD Ježica, she won the trophy a second time in 1989. During the war in Croatia she played for Panathinaikos in Athens from 1991 to 1993 .
After Vangelovska ended her career, she worked as a basketball coach at the North Macedonian Sports Academy in Skopje.
Vangelovska is a member of the Macedonian Olympic Committee and was Vice President there.
