Sträter is a comedy and talk show that has been broadcast on Erste since spring 2020 . The show bears the name of the slam poet , cabaret artist , comedy writer and host Torsten Sträter . It is the follow-up program to Sträter's male household , which was produced from 2016 to 2019 and broadcast on WDR television .

concept

The new show will be recorded in the event location New York Harbor Club at Mülheimer Hafen in Cologne . In the brick building with a real, burning fireplace there is a more intimate atmosphere than in the Steffy disco in Oberhausen . As in Sträter's male household , the host invites two guests to "an evening with friends". One celebrity and one less prominent guest. The cabaret artist Jochen Malmsheimer and the astrophysicist and astronaut Suzanna Randall were invited to the premiere . Torsten Sträter holds at the beginning of the program a classic stand-up - monologue . In addition, the entire program is planned and written by the host himself. Sträter talks about various things that he thinks is great. This can e.g. B. be films, books or a song. But he also talks about things that "piss him off". Instead of household tips like in the male household , Sträter goes on house visits. He meets original people from so-called "real life" who have something to say or show him. Originally, Sträter start on 7 December of 2019. The premiere has been postponed to spring 2020. In January 2020 it became known that the program would not be broadcast for the first time on WDR television like Sträter's male household, but on March 5, 2020 at 11:30 p.m. on Das Erste.

Since the second episode, the cabaret artist and entertainer Tino Bomelino has appeared as a sidekick on the show. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the program has also been produced in the Klub der Töne in Cologne-Mülheim's Schanzenviertel since the second episode . After the third episode in May, the show took a month-long hiatus and is scheduled to return on October 22nd.
