The Barðastrandarvegur is a main road in the West Fjords of Iceland . This road leads to Brjánslækur ferry terminal , where the ferry from Snæfellsnes docks, and continues to Patreksfjörður .

While the Vestfjarðavegur leads S60 through the Penningsdalur and Þverádalur to the north, in Vatnsfjörður the Barðastrandarvegur branches off to the south and continues along the coast of Barðaströnd . After about 6 km Brjánslækur is reached with the Baldur ferry. At Krossanes, the Barðastrandarvegur has reached its southernmost point. The rivers Vaðalsá, Móra, Arnarbýlisá and Hagaá all flow into the Hagabót Bay. Here the road is almost 3 km from the coast. Bad Krosslaug is south of the street and is fed by a hot spring. Not to be confused with the better known Krossneslaug , which is also in the Westfjords, but over 100 km further northeast. The Siglunesvegur H611runs a further 6 km along the coast to the west towards Rauðisandur. The Barðastrandarvegur now rises to 404 m on the Kleifaheiði. Vegagerðin operates a station on this plateau to monitor traffic and weather. At the northern end of Kleifaheiði the road leads over two switchbacks into Ósafjörður, the eastern end of Patreksfjörður .

The Barðastrandarvegur has a total length of almost 60 km. Of these, 36 km run along the south coast, Baðaströnd, and 12 km each over Kleifaheiði and along the north bank in Patreksfjörður. The entire course is paved.
