Cobra Force (original title: Strike Commando ) is an Italian action film directed by Bruno Mattei from 1987.

content

Michael Ransom is part of an elite force that is eliminated by Colonel Radek after a successful mission in Vietnam. Only Ransom survives and is nursed back to health in the jungle by locals and watches what goes on. He returns to America, where he meets Radek again, who, however, refuses to believe that Russians are in Vietnam. Let him return and collect evidence.

When he does so, he finds the native village destroyed and the little Lau, with whom he made friends during the first stay, dying. Ransom locates the Russian Jakoda, who is behind numerous slaughters, and is captured. He was able to flee during interrogation by Jakoda's playmate Olga; Colonel Radek himself now intervenes with troops - on the opposing side. Ransomware puts an end to the hustle and bustle of the villain.

criticism

“The film is surprisingly entertaining to watch for total shit. (...) The dialogues are wonderfully serious. "

- Christian Keßler , in: Splatting Image, No. 33

“Rambo imitation that delights in excessive cruelty and male courage to die; a repulsive 'correction' of reality in favor of a stylized one-man war. "

Remarks

The film is clearly based on Rambo II - The Order , from which entire settings are copied. It was shot in the Philippines .
