Stromile Emanuel Swift (born November 21, 1979 in Shreveport , Louisiana ) is an American former basketball player who played on the position of the center .

Career

Swift was selected 2nd by the Vancouver Grizzlies in the 2000 NBA Draft . His rookie season was inconspicuous, with just under 5 points per game. His second year he improved and achieved his statistically best career values with 11.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. However, he never really managed to meet the high expectations of the Grizzlies, so after 5 years of Grizzlies he was given to the Houston Rockets . Here his values improved again and after a year he had a number of top offers from the NBA . He finally decided to return to the Memphis Grizzlies and was exchanged for Shane Battier along with the draft rights to Rudy Gay . After two years he came to the New Jersey Nets , but even here it only lasted a year, so he went to the Phoenix Suns after the season . An engagement with the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2009/2010 season failed after Swift missed the final jump into the season squad. He then ended his NBA career and hung on for another season with the Shandong Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association . There he became a CBA All-Star in 2010 before Swift finally retired from his career.
