Stuart Beattie
Stuart Beattie (* 1972 ) is an Australian screenwriter and film director .
Life
Stuart Beattie was born in 1972. His parents are David and Sandra Beattie. He attended Knox Grammar School in Sydney , Australia , where his mother also worked as a teacher, and later Charles Sturt University in Bathurst .
Beattie has been a screenwriter since 1997. He became known through his participation in the script for the film Pirates of the Caribbean (2003). In the sequels Pirates of the Caribbean - Curse of the Caribbean 2 (2006), Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End (2007) and Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides (2011), he was involved in the character creation. For his original screenplay for the thriller Collateral , he was nominated for the BAFTA Award and the Saturn Award in 2005. Five years later he won the AFI Award for the best adapted screenplay for Tomorrow, When the War Began . The film was immediately his directorial debut.
