The Stuibenhütte is a serviced self- catering hut on the Stuiben in the Bavarian Wetterstein Mountains of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen section of the German Alpine Club . It is located at 1640 m east below the Alpspitze .
The Stuibenhütte is only open in winter and can only be reached with touring skis or snowshoes . It serves as a base for ski tours and winter climbing in the area. The hut is equipped with a washroom with running water, an outhouse next to the hut and a solar system to supply electricity for the lighting.
Accesses
- With the Kreuzeck mountain railway from Garmisch / Hammersbach to the Kreuzeckhaus , from there via the Bernardeinsteig to the hut.
- With the cable car to Osterfelder Kopf , from there descent over the piste and on over the Bernadeinsteig to the hut.
- From Garmisch via the Partnachalm and the Laubhütte.
