Stuttgart is a place in Kansas , USA . It was founded on February 6, 1888 and is located in northern Kansas on US Route 36 between Prairie View and Phillipsburg in Phillips County not far from the border with the US state of Nebraska . Its establishment can be traced back to the early 1870s when the first settlers arrived in the area, which was used extensively by Indians as a feeding ground for buffalo herds .

Stuttgart developed from simple shelters and small log cabins to a busy farming town with a hotel, inn, cafe, bank, cinema, hairdresser, post office, lumber yard , grocery store, railway depot, grain silos, repair shop , blacksmith, dairy, two Lutheran churches, public school, baseball team and more.

Today it has become quieter in the settlement. There is also a Lutheran church, a grain silo, a car repair shop and a service station as well as a photo studio.
