Suad Fileković (born September 16, 1978 ) is a former Slovenian football player .

Career

Fileković began his professional career at Olimpija Ljubljana before being signed for the first time in 1999 by NK Maribor , the most successful Slovenian club. This was followed by four successful seasons with the Slovenian top club, before he moved to Hajduk Split in 2003. His two-year stint in Croatia was followed by shorter engagements with Ergotelis in the Greek Super League, Excelsior Mouscron in Belgium and Krylja Sowetow Samara in Russia, before Fileković returned to Maribor in the summer of 2007. After winning another Slovenian championship in the 2008/09 season, the defender decided to move to the English second division club Barnsley . However, it was not long before Fileković agreed to an early termination of the contract with the English club and returned to NK Maribor on October 23, 2009.

Fileković played his first international match for Slovenia on August 21, 2002 against Italy. The left-back qualified with Slovenia for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Fileković is a native Bosniak from Kosovo .
