Sule Skerry is a flat, grassy and uninhabited North Atlantic island in the west of the Scottish Orkney Islands . The island has an area of 16 hectares and reaches a height of 12 meters.
On the north coast of the small Sule- Skerry (Engl. Skerry ) is since 1895 the 27 meter high lighthouse Sule Skerry Lighthouse , which automates only since 1982 and is uninhabited.
About ten kilometers southwest of Sule Skerry is the smaller rock island Sule Stack , a 36 meter high rock needle with no vegetation . Both islands lie on the Skerry Bank , an otherwise submarine elevation.
Both islands are part of the UNESCO biosphere reserve known as " Sule Skerry and Sule Stack ".
