The Sulphide Glacier (Eng. " Sulphide " or "Sulfur Glacier") is a glacier in the North Cascades National Park in Washington State on the southern slopes of Mount Shuksan . Descending from the summit tower of Mount Shuksan 1.85 mi (3 km) from 8,600 ft (2,621 m) to 5,600 ft (1,707 m), it is connected to Crystal Glacier to the east. The glacier lies on the route used for the first ascent of Mount Shuksan in 1906. Both Sulphide and Crystal Glacier have a series of 300 ft (91 m) to 1,000 ft (305 m) high cascades collectively referred to as the Sulphide Basin Falls. Below these cascades is Sulphide Lake , which drains over Sulphide Creek Falls , one of the highest waterfalls in North America at 2,200 ft (671 m).
