history

In the Lorsch Codex , Sulzbach was mentioned in a deed of donation from the year 775. The place changed hands frequently. With the multiple changes of denomination in the Electoral Palatinate, the subjects had to change their denomination ten times within 130 years. After the end of the Electoral Palatinate, the place became part of the Principality of Leiningen in 1803 and, from 1806, of the Grand Duchy of Baden .

On February 1, 1974 Sulzbach was incorporated into Billigheim.
