Sunbeam is a German music project. It consists of Florian Preis and Michael Gerlach, who have achieved national and international success with progressive dance / trance productions and remixes since 1992 .

history

Florian Preis (* 1972 in Bensheim ) and the native Iranian Michael Gerlach (* 1973 in Tehran ) founded the Sunbeam project in 1992, which was first heard about in 1994. The two DJs had known each other since childhood. After the "EP Of High Adventure", "Outside World" followed in the same year (best known in "Seismic Remix"). This production contained two vocal samples from the film " Akira " ("You know we aren't meant to exist in the outside world" and "I came to get you") and was mainly due to the remix of the same name in 1999 to an Evergreen Sunbeams. A year later they performed at Mayday . After two more releases, "Love Is Paradise" and "Arms Of Heaven", "Dreams" entered the Media Control Top 100 in 1997 as the first single. In the production had, among others, Rick J. Jordan (Hendrik Stedler) of Scooter helped and today's scooter member Michael Simon. The new edition of "Outside World" continued the success. The subsequent collaboration with DJ Tomcraft resulted in "Versus", which, however, was largely produced by Sunbeam. Further successes were "Wake Up", "Do It" and "One Minute In Heaven", which, like all other singles, were included on the nationally released album "Lightyears". This was released in 2001 on Edel Records (Germany), which also contained a mix of selective productions Sunbeams. A year and a half break followed. A new production was then released on vinyl under the title "Watching The Stars". In 2004 a vinyl was also released under the title "Low Gravity", in which Sunbeam turned away from their successful progressive trance sound and took on more electronic influences. Since then there has been no further publication or appearance.

From 1999 to 2002 Sunbeam were a member of the "Trance Allstars" ( ATB , DJ Mellow-D , Schiller , Talla 2XLC , DJ Taucher ) and each provided a remix for the singles "The First Rebirth", "Ready To Flow" and "Lost In Love "and" Go "off. All singles were in the top 40 of the German single charts.

In addition to Sunbeam, Gerlach and Preis were also active under their pseudonyms "Chrome & Price", "Force 2", "Art Bizarre" and "Iron Wobble".
