Sundram Fasteners Limited ( SFL ) is an Indian company based in Chennai . It primarily manufactures parts for automobiles, aircraft and wind turbines and is part of the TVS Group .
history
The company was founded in 1966. It operates in markets such as India , China , Germany , USA , UK , Italy , France and Brazil .
Customers include John Deere , New Holland , DaimlerChrysler , Cummins , General Motors , Delphi Automotive , Deutz Motors , Iveco , MTU , Proton , Valeo and ZF . The export business accounted for almost 25% of sales in the 2000s.
Both TVS & Sons (25.37%) and Southern Roadways (24.16%) have a stake in SFL.
Products
Sundram Fasteners Limited manufactures and sells components for automobiles , infrastructure , wind turbines and aircraft . These include high strength fasteners, drive shafts , camshafts , joints, hot forged parts, pinions , connecting rods , powder metal parts, gear elements , oil, water and fuel pumps, valve lifters, rocker arm shafts, bearing housings etc. for vehicles and machines of various sizes and uses including tractors , forklifts , Marine engines , generator sets and two-wheelers .
Works
SFL has plants in Tamil Nadu ( Padi , Hosur , Aviyur , Mittamandagapet , Velappanchavadi , Gummidipoondi ), in Mahindra World City (SEZ), in Puducherry ( Korkadu ), in Andhra Pradesh ( Bonthapally ) and in Uttarakhand ( Rudrapur ). Other plants and subsidiaries abroad are Sundram Fasteners (Zhejiang) Limited in China and Cramlington Precision Forge Limited in Great Britain. There was another subsidiary in Malaysia . The German company Peiner Umformtechnik GmbH in Peine was also owned by SFL until 2016.
