Supanich Poolkerd (born November 28, 1997 in Nan ) is a Thai sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter distance and was particularly successful with the Thai 4-by-400-meter relay.

Athletic career

In 2014, Supanich Poolkerd took part in the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei , where he won the silver medal with the relay and took eighth place in the individual competition. In 2015 she won the silver medal with the relay at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore . At the Junior Asian Championships 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City , she won the silver medal over 200 meters and bronze with the Thai relay. In 2017 she was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar, India, over 400 meters in the lead and finished fifth in the relay. At the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur , she won the bronze medal in the individual competition and silver with the relay. In the same week, the student from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok took part in the Student World Games in Taipei and achieved seventh place in the season. At the beginning of September she won the gold medal with the relay at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat and just barely missed another one in fourth in the individual competition.

In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where she was eliminated from the individual competition with 56.62 seconds in the first round and finished in seventh place with the 4-by-400-meter relay and sixth with the mixed relay. The following year she retired from the Summer Universiade in Naples over 200 meters with 24.45 s in the first round and took sixth place with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.23 s. In December she finished fifth at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in 24.05 seconds over 200 meters and won the silver medal behind the team from Vietnam in 3: 39.78 minutes.

Poolkerd is studying political science at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok .
