Susanne Bliemel

Susanne Bliemel (* 1968 in Schwerin , GDR ) is a German teacher , radio presenter and Low German author .

Life

Bliemel studied German and Slavic languages in Güstrow , Odessa in the Ukraine and in Greifswald .

After graduating, Bliemel taught as a teacher. From 1998 to 2004 she was the director of studies at the State Institute for Schools and Training in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . She also worked for 15 years as the state commissioner for Low German and as a commissioner for the implementation of the program "My home - my modern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania".

Bliemel has been with NDR 1 Radio MV since 2001 , where he moderates the Low German radio program De Plappermoehl together with Thomas Lenz . She also appears as a live moderator at events such as "25 Years of Land Holidays in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania" by the State Tourism Association. She is also dedicated to maintaining the Low German language, writing Low German stories and translating High German books into Low German. She is the winner of the Fritz Reuter Prize 2020 from the Carl Toepfer Foundation Hamburg for her educational, journalistic and political commitment to the Low German language.

Susanne Bliemel has two daughters.
