Suworowo ( Russian Суворово , German  Spandienen ) is a place within the Moscow Rajon of Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg (Prussia)) , the capital of the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg region ).

Geographical location

Suworowo is located on the northeastern tip of the Fresh Lagoon in the southwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , five kilometers from the city center. The Russian trunk road A 194 (former German Reichsstrasse 1 ) runs through the village . The next train station is Kaliningrad Mamonowski ( Prappeln until 1945 ) on the route from Kaliningrad to Mamonowo (Heiligenbeil) and on to Poland (section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway ).

The former Spandienen was founded in 1419 and was characterized by an estate and a peat factory before 1945.
