Sven Kerschek

Sven Kerschek (* 1973 in Flensburg ) is a German jazz musician ( guitar , also bass guitar ).

Life

Kerschek, who comes from a family of musicians, studied jazz guitar at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . Both as a guitarist and as a bassist, he made numerous recordings, including for radio; he is active in numerous bands, such as Lautgut76 , the Gabriel Coburger Quartet, the Quintet Jean Paul and the Lisa Stick Quintet . Sebastian Gille , Oliver Potratz and John Schröder belong to his own quartet . He has also worked in theater productions with Wolfram Apprich and can be heard on recordings with Dieter Glawischnig , John Schröder, Stephan Meinberg , Jonas Schoen , Ulita Knaus , Christoph Schönherr and the NDR Bigband .

Prizes and awards

In 1997, Kerschek and the Test Series group won the Association and West Bank youth culture award . In 2011 he was a winner of the Jugendkulturell Förderpreis.
