Sven Steenberg

Sven Steenberg , actually Arthur Doellert (born September 23, 1905 in Riga ; † September 24, 1994 ) was a German-Baltic writer , screenwriter and lawyer .

Life

Arthur Doellert grew up in the German-Baltic region of Riga and studied in Germany, among other places.

From 1941 to 1945 Doellert served as an interpreter in the Wehrmacht , later promoted to Sonderführer  (Z), he was used as an interpreter with special assignments in the staff of the 2nd Panzer Army in the German-Soviet War . Previously, Doellert worked as an interpreter in the staff of the 293rd Infantry Division . Doellert wrote down his experiences in the war and his escape to Germany in 1991 in his “ Memories of a Baltic German 1941–1945 ”.

Doellert died on September 24, 1994, one day after his 89th birthday. His grave is in the Backnang forest cemetery .
